Hi Everyone, my name is Brian Groves and I have been in the Health and WEight Loss industry now for almost 7 years. In that time I have managed to drop 130+ pounds and more importantly KEEP IT OFF!

Here are a few mistakes to keep an eye out for during your New Years Weight Los Resolutions.
  • Cutting calories to nothing. One would assume if you eat less you weigh less right? Wrong.....well maybe it's wrong and here is what I mean. As we cut calories we often times cut protein sources since they tend to be more calorie dense in favor of things like rice cake, celery and anything with "Low Calorie" on the box right? Problem with this is we NEED protein, protein becomes even more important as we age to keep as much muscle as we can. More muscle = more calories burned which will help you lose fat. Cutting the protein will cause muscle loss, slow metabolism and the dreaded loose and saggy skin. I am lucky enough to have lost weight the right way and have no loose skin even after 130 pounds of weight loss.
  • They start eating too many meals, carrying around a lunch box and counting calories. That doesn't sound bad right? Actually it does and this is where some folks may not agree with me. I never have my clients count calories, we track protein and watch carbs but don't worry about calories at all. Why? Calories don't cause you to gain weight but I will get into that at a later date.
  • Joining a gym. Again, that isn't bad right? Well....maybe. If you are coming right off the couch to hitting the gym at 5am 7 days a week how long do you really think that will last? Not very if you are like most folks.

So basically I just told you EVERYTHING you are doing to lose weight is wrong, right?

Think about this, almost every year you or a friend/family member do most all of these things and every year they are making a New Years Resolution to lose weight. Right?
Clearly these thing simply don't work, if they did you would have lost weight and kept it off.

So what is the right way? 3 simple words.

SIMPLE
SENSIBLE
SUSTAINABLE
Keep an eye out for the RIGHT things to do for New Years Weight Loss Resolutions
